Greetings, My name is Kenisha Reese and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), specializing in mental health, families, and children. I started my career as a Qualified Mental Health Professional over 13 years ago after graduating with my bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) from Shaw University. Later, I pursued my master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I have experience in working with individuals that suffer with mental illness in many different settings; community-based, institutions, hospitals, and private homes. I believe that although we face tough times, we deserve to have a good quality of life and to excel in reaching life’s potential.
It is my belief that people know themselves better than anyone, therefore they are the best source when it comes to their treatment and what works best for them. My role is to work together with individuals, couples, and families to provide therapeutic knowledge, skills, and treatment to develop solutions to presenting issues.
I believe that a good therapeutic relationship includes trust, genuineness, openness, and positive outcomes, and that is the type of service I intend to provide. I know that no single approach works for every individual, so I have experience in a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Task-Centered/Problem Solving Therapy to name a few.
It is my passion to assist with bringing understanding and resolution to individuals who have been through stressful and traumatic events. My goal is to help individuals with healthy insights of themselves and others as well as strengthen their interpersonal relationships so they can experience a sense of peace and to feel safe.
Outside of caring for others, I love spending time with family and friends and enjoying life.
